3rd Entry for Mar 17, 2011
These are three 10-minute studies, also done with 9B graphite on 18 x 24" cartridge paper.
I've been using the smaller paper for a while now, and have been getting much more comfortable with handling the material. It is still a challenge working spontaneously and sensitively on the smaller playing field, but a this point I don't have an affordable larger option.
In my perfect world, a 22" x 30" acid-free cartridge-type paper in the 20 to 40 cent a sheet range would be ideal. For now, the Canson XL cartridge is an acceptable compromise.
Anyone interested in learning and developing their life drawing should look into the Spring term courses at the TSA, which starts Apr. 18. I teach beginning and intermediate life drawing in the 10-week term. More details and registration info is on their website.
If you're in the Toronto area, you should come check the TSA Open House, which is running Apr. 14 - 16, and has a reception on Thursday night, from 7 - 11 p.m.
