1st entry for Oct 22, 2012

I didn't go figure drawing 'til the next Monday, when Sandra was at Diane's Drawing Room session.  Sandra's work was good, but it wasn't one of my stronger nights. That's how it goes - not every occasion works as well, but they are part of the package too.
These are 1-minute studies, done with medium compressed charcoal on 18 x 24" sheets of bond paper.

These are some further 1-minute studies. I believe gesture drawing is a significant and very useful element in learning to draw people's bodies. It's one of the areas we'll be investigating in the upcoming 6-week introductory life drawing class I'll be teaching at the Toronto School of Art on Tuesday mornings, stating Oct 30th.
