2nd entry for April 10, 2009

These were in the five and ten minute range. With the build-up to open house, my attention was see-sawing between the drawing session and a section of rough wall I was facing with drywall in an adjacent studio at TSA. The drawing was going fairly well, just the same.

1st entry for April 10, 2009

Friday night was my last opportunity to go out drawing pre-Open House, owing to Easter
falling on the Sunday. I really enjoy figure drawing, but a delicious family dinner is too hard to pass up. L- was working that night. These were some of her 1-minute poses.

8th Entry for April 9, 2009

... which takes us to the close of that Thursday session. These are a 5-minute and two 10-minute studies, and these were the poses that closed out the evening.

7th entry for April 9, 2009

After a rest, p- resumed her poses, this time making use of the big hoop and a thick length of rope. These poses were all either three or five minutes long. I was having a fairly good drawing night.

6th entry for April 9, 2009

These were 3-minute poses, up until the break that evening. I kept shading the drapery while P- took a rest.

5th entry for April 9, 2009

These were some more of P- 's 2-minute poses

4th entry for April 9, 2009

These poses were all in the two-minute range. P- 's experience is more in dance than in circus work, and so she was stretching her experiments in interacting with the fabric.

3rd entry for April 9, 2009

These were also 1 minute each.

2nd entry for April 9, 2009

These were 1-minute poses, using a pair of silk straps hanging from the ceiling

1st entry for April 9, 2009

On Thursday I attended Diane McGrath's Drawing Room drawing session out Queen St. W.
P- was working there. These are three of the 30-second poses that she took.

3rd entry for April 7, 2009

These were all in the 20-minute range. The drawing was going well that night, which it usually does with J- working. The standing pose was strong, I felt, but the standout was the reclining figure. It's still far from perfect, but it is dramatic & pictorially interesting.
The head on the study sitting on the stool is weakly drawn, and a poor likeness, but the rest of it was acceptable enough to post, I feel.

2nd entry for April 7, 2009

It wasn't the best night for likenesses, but I was playing with proportions in ways I don't usually do. Having drawn J- numerous times, i feel less of an urhency to record him exactly `as is'. These are one 5-minute and two 10-minute poses.

1st entry for April 7, 2009

No drawing took place Sunday, owing to an Easter dinner. But Tuesday I reached Artists 25 on time, and had a good long stretch to draw J- , who was working that night. These were some 2-minute poses he did.

2nd entry for April 3, 2009

These were 15-minute poses. Distance, coupled with fatigue led to this not being one of my strongest drawing nights.
