3rd Entry for March 1, 2009

These were 15-minute & 20-minute poses. In my drawing class ealier in the week, I was trying to get people to be more conscious of mark-making and textures. Some of that percolated into my own drawing, especially in the head and shoulder study. G- had her hair down, and it had so many curls and shapes to it. I was enjoying the challenge of trying to find marks to convey that.

I find it interesting how the things I am focussing on within teaching in a given week always seem to manifest that little bit better within my own work.

4th Entry for January 11, 2009

These poses ran for 15 minutes, but an ill-timed trip for coffee meant there was only 7 minutes or so for the middle one.
