Entry for May 22, 2009

On the Friday I had a few things on my mind, some stressful. My heart wasn't in the drawing that night. After a couple of sets of poses by F- , who graciously filled in as a substitute model, I slipped out early. F- 's work was excellent, but this 10-minute study was the only one worth recording. The others were awkward and insensitive in their handling.
Usually I make a point of pressing on in that sort of situation, as mood can change, but in this case I felt that things weren't going to improve. It's good to know when it is prudent to cut your losses.

Entry for Jan 8. 2009

I only got out to the tail end of a Thursday night session at the TSA where G- was working. The shading was confident, but proportions were a little slippy in places.

These are, top to bottom, a 15-, 20- , and a 25- minute study.

I was impressed by her stamina in maintaining the 20-minute pose in particular. The stress was making a lot of muscles show in her back.
