2nd Entry for Mar 20, 2011

Above is a 15-minute pose, and below are two 20-minute poses which ended the evening. The top one is on cartridge paper, and the lower two are on 18 x 24" sheets of Japanese paper, also done with soft graphite.
Saturday , Apr 16 from noon-5 pm is the last day of the Toronto School of Art's spring Open House. Several of my students have their work up, and there are a few hundred prints, drawings, sculptures, paintings and much more to bee enjoyed there.
It is also the last day to check out in person a collaborative undertaking between myself and Julius Manapul, one of the TSA's Independent Studio students. Julius has cut and reworked six of my drawings on Japanese paper, transforming the figures into ornate and striking creatures.

Also, if you have a yearning to learn about life drawing, or to improve your skills, the TSA's Spring term starts next week. I teach introductory life drawing Saturday nights, and intermediate life drawing Wednesday nights, and both classes have space for a few more students.  Spring classes at the TSA are small, so there is lots of time for 1-on 1 instruction.
And if you want to get a better grip on perspective basics and object drawing, I also have a Tuesday morning class called "Structural Drawing" starting next week.
Details on all of these can be found at the TSA website.
