1st entry for March 16, 2015
On the Monday I went to the White House Art Project session in Kensington, which is heavy on short poses. Greg was working that night. Sometimes I forget the range of his gesture poses - lots of hand gestures, too. They were good exercise that evening.
These are 1-minute and 2-minute studies, done with a Pitt calligraphy pen on 18 x 18" sheets of Canson Recycled Sketch paper.

2nd entry for March 13, 2015
These are three 15-minute studies above, and a 20-minute one at the bottom. All of these are on 18 x 24" sheets of watercolour paper, except for the second one, which is on some Somerset paper. All are done with Derwent Inktense pencils, and some Chinese ink washes in places as well.

1st entry for March 13, 2015
On the Friday night, Luis was working at the TSA. I had forgotten my usual waterbrushes and pens, so these are Derwent Inktense water-soluble coloured pencils.
The top three 5-minute studies are on 18 x 24" sheets of Canson Recycled Sketch paper, and the lower three are on 14 x 17" Strathmore Bristol paper.
2nd entry for March 10, 2015
These are studies of Jane Mappin and Daniel Firth. Also ink wash and Pitt pen in an 8.5 x 11" sketchbook.
It was interesting to watch a tech rehearsal underway, and to have the opportunity to watch a run-through of the work by Jane Mappin and by Peggy Baker. The second piece was more kinetic; daniel Firth was a more restless mover, which added to the challenge of sketching. It was a good workout, and the ink washes in waterbrushes were a good means to get information down quickly..
1st entry for March 10, 2015
I've been taking part in a dance/visual art collaboration class at the TSA. On the Tuesday night I was able to sit in along with several of my fellow students at Dancemakers Studio in the Distillery at a rehearsal for an upcoming dance performance. It was for the dance series "Older and Reckless". These are all pen and wash in an 8.5 x 11" sketch pad.
The top studies are of Peggy Baker and Larry Hahn, and the bottom-most images are of seies organiser Claudia Moore looking on.

Entry for March 8, 2015
Sunday morning I got caught by the Spring `jump forward', and missed a hunk of drawing time at the monthly 519 Community Centre's Sunday drawing session.
Peter was working, and these are all in the 20 - 30-minute range, on 18 x 24" sheets of watercolour paper.
All are ink washes and a medium Pitt pen.
The 3rd-last one was an experiment in recycling a 200 lb. sheet of rag paper that had a drawing I was unhappy with. I coated it with gesso and some Golden acrylic absorbent ground. All of which added to the weight of the paper, but the specially-formulated ground does take ink washes. A gesso is needed for opacity, but there are probably quite interesting possibilities with exploring the semi-opaqueness of the ground with an underlayer...
5th entry for Mar 6, 2015
These are a couple of 15-minute studies above and a 10-minute one below. All are medium Pitt pen and ink washes on 18 x 24" sheets of various watercolour paper.
