1st entry for January 18, 2009

I managed to get out of bed early enough to attend the Sunday morning session that Sunday as well. H- was working. I missed the gesture poses, being incapable of getting out on a non-teaching Sunday on time. These were the 10-minute poses that were happening when I got there.

Entry for January 16, 2009

I did get out to the Friday session, but arrived late & more than a bit preoccupied with a class that had ailing enrolment, for which I made an impromptu promotional poster to put up around the school. Between layout & printing problems, I only had the opportuninty to do these 15-minute studies. They suffer a bit from lack of warmup time, but weren't total write-offs either.
It was one of those nights where drinks spilled, paper tore, and the conte crayons kept snapping. Some nights are like that.

5th Entry for January 15, 2009

The last 2 poses that P- took that night were these 10-minute ones. I enjoyed her work, and her poses reminded me quite a bit of those that C- had taken, the first time I had attended Diane's studio.

That was Oct 23rd. C- was working- the poses should be accessible on this page here..

(Whee - my link worked! The C- poses start partway down that page & continue on the "next" page option at the page bottom.)

4th Entry for January 15, 2009

Each of these was a 5-minute pose. From where I was sitting, the oval of the hoop created a a bit of a coccoon visually. It was challenging, too, as the hoop would slightly pivot, altering the ellipse as it did.

3rd Entry for January 15, 2009

These were 3-minute poses, which ran up til a break, then continued with the big suspended hoop

2nd Entry for January 15, 2009

These poses were 3-minutes in duration. After the amount of 1- and 2-minute poses we do in an evening there, 3 minutes feels like a comparatively long time. At the TSA, 3 minutes shoots by so fast.

1st entry for January 15, 2009

After a 3-week hiatus, Diane Mcgrath's studio was back in action. P- was working that evening. She is more a dancer than an aerialist, and it was interesting to see how she interacted with the equipment at hand. These were 1- and 2-minute poses. I was definitely feeling the rust - not being able to set down as much as I wanted to in the time available, and happy with fewer of the studies afterwards.
