I stayed on for the afternoon, and tried a couple of further studies in the 18 x 24" size range on Japanese paper I had around the studio. These are done with 4B graphite. The upper one took about 90 minutes, while the lower one was in the 30-minute range.
The upper one was originally in a horizontal format, but I felt the open space wasn't working, so I cut it down to the present format.
