2nd entry for Aug 27, 2012
These are some 2-minute and 3-minute studies, done on 18 x 24" sheets of Canson Recycled Sketch paper, drawn with hard compressed charcoal.
This weekend, I'll be at the Queen West Art Crawl in Trinity-Bellwoods Park. I'll be in Booth 44 in the Red section of the park. It's midway along the diagonal path that runs through the big circle of tents there. The exhibit runs 11 - 6 daily.
If you like the figure studies I post on here, I will be bringing 10 of the very strong ones that are done with compressed charcoal on 18 x 24" sheets of Canson Recycled Sketch paper.
I'll also be showing a number of graphite drawings, including a few of the small drawings that were inspired by the Anandam Dance Theatre's Divergent Dances for Walls and Floors. You can see the full album of those drawings on facebook here.
Anandam itself is doing a special interactive performance piece on Saturday the 15th at 12:45 outside Theatre Passe Muraille. It's a version of the collective rope `cat's cradle' that was also included in the Divergent Dances piece. It was a lot of fun, and you can get details on that here. So you can come scoop up a drawing at 11, tour the Art Crawl and stroll over to Ryerson for Theatre Passe Muraille's Queen West Fest on Ryerson and join the Anandam crew there afterwards. (there's a bunch other free stuff happening through the day at Theatre Passe Muraille, so look it up.
