2nd entry for Mar 27, 2012

These are 2-minute studies, done with hard compressed charcoal on 18 x 24" sheets of Canson Recycled Sketch paper.

Drawing people in the air like this puts into play many of the components of figure drawing - gesture, line, body structure, proportion and shading.  I teach these things - in a simpler, encouraging environment with models at ground- level - at the Toronto School of Art:  beginner's classes on Saturday mornings, and advanced classes on Wednesday evenings. The Spring term starts in two weeks, and you can get full details through the TSA website, or drop me a line.
