Entry for Sept. 11, 2012

On the Tuesday night I went over to Revival on College St, to take part in the monthly mix-up of drapery, costume and `naughtiness' that is the Keyhole Sessions session. This month they were continuing their 7 Deadly Sins theme, with Envy as the motif. Being the Keyhole Sessions, this was the kind of envy that involves some green here and there, women posing as getting cosy with each other in lingerie and eventually a bit of rope harness.
Their lead-off model Betty had a retro burlesque look that reminded me of the more playful fun of Dr Sketchy's sessions. She was working the theme with green eye shadow & an green dressing gown. Drawing the other two models Sid and Maggie was a good 2-figure challenge, but the envy theme seemed to go by the wayside fairly fast.
The top drapery study prior to start-up was 10 minutes, and below it are two 2-minute studies. Following that is a 5-minute and a 15-minute study which had the background curtain added in a 10-minute break. The two lower studies are 10-minutes each. The top four were done with hard compressed charcoal on 18 x 24" sheets of bond paper, and the lower three are on Canson Recycled Sketch paper; same charcoal.
