After the morning 519 session I went over to ARC, and worked on a couple of longer studies of Gwen there.
The top one is roughly 2 hours, with ink wash underdrawing and oil-based pencil on top of 18 x 24" Canson Montval Watercolour paper.
The lower one is a 20-minute study with the same media, but in a 12 x 18" area on the page. The drawing is underdeveloped, but also this sort of pose is very difficult to make work in a vertical format; either the figure looks truncated at the legs, or they extend awkwardly out of frame. The fade out here is too abrupt and just looks awkward and amputated.
