I went over to the Drawing Room studio on the Tuesday. J- was working there, and I hadn't drawn her before either. This session is heavy on gesture poses, and these were some of the 30-second ones that she took on silks.
These were 10-minute and 15-minute poses. They are not in the exact order that M- took them - i.e, the standing poses were not right after each other. I felt I was able to get a reasonable likeness of her facial features in a number of the studies I did that morning. Some sessions go better than others.
I made it to the Sunday morning at the TSA, where M- was working. I hadn't drawn her previously. These were some 5-minute and 10-minute poses that she took.
Overall, the Thursday session was a better one than the Tuesday had been, but I was still feeling a bit `off' in my drawing. Out of the night's studies, these 10-minute and 15-minute ones were the other okay ones. These were all executed in HB conte crayon on sheets of 24" x 36" newsprint, like almost every study posted on this blog.
I'm a Toronto- based artist. My focus is on the human form, primarily through drawing. I'm mostly posting work on Tumblr now(link below.) This blog remains a process-intensive diary of over 10,000 studies spanning more than 7 years.
(More finished work of mine can be found as well on my Flickr account - there's a link for that below as well)
