Thank you again to everyone who came to visit last weekend at the Queen West Art Crawl. The weather was not totally co-operative, but it was great to see lots of new and familiar faces. Sunday was really lovely.
A reminder too, that TSA classes are just starting this week. There's still room in my Saturday Intro life class, and lots of other courses in a wide variety of media with excellent instructors, Get all the details at www.tsa-art.com.
These are three 10-minute studies and four 15-minute ones below. The 10-minute studies are all Pitt pen on 18 x 24" sheets of Canson Recycled Sketch paper.
The first two 15's are on 18 x 24" sheets of Strathmore Series 300 paper; the upper one is Pitt pen and shading done with dilute india ink in a brushpen while the lower one is 2B water-soluble graphite pencil, left dry.
I have been learning with the nuances of the different pencil grades of water-soluble graphite. The 15-minute reclining pose is a 6B pencil on Canson Montval watercolour paper. The pigment releases to a much blacker value than the 2B.
The lowest one is a 4B pencil on the Montval paper, which feels like a better value range for my taste.
