These are two 10-minute studies above and five-minute and 3-minute ones below. All are done with hard Nobel charcoal on 18 x 24" sheets of Canson Recycled Sketch paper.
There was a break after the second long pose, so I converted the bench D- was lying off of into a stonework structure to go with the mood of the evening.
All the while, heavy-metal and rock songs were playing, in keeping with the barbarian theme - making it all a kind of a 'Gesamtnerdwerk '.

These are some more 2-minute and/or 3-minute studies. Sion's build, hair and outfit was striking me a little more Turok than Conan, so in some of these (like the lowest one, I was paying with bulking him up a bit visually. It was a windy rooftop, but the working was fun.

Character poses were the order of the day at a Toons in Tap assisted fundraising event on the rooftop of XMG Studios, who hosted the event. Sion was in reprising his earlier TOT session, which I had missed. These are 1-minute and 2-minute poses.

1st entry for Aug 9, 2012
On the Thursday I went for some drawing, and C- was working. These are some 1-minute studies. done with hard compressed charcoal on 18 x 24" sheets of bond paper.
This coming Saturday, August 2 - and the following one Sept 1st - the all-gesture summer sessions continue, 1:30 - 4:30 pm. at the Toronto School of Art, only $10 per session.
