On the Thursday I was out sketching as well.  G-  was working, and these were some of his 1-minute poses.  (They are probably a little more than a minute, for which I'm not complaining or criticising: I only point this out because there's more info set down in these than I can generally set down in a 60-second period).
These are 8B graphite on 18 x 24" cartridge paper

The topmost image is a 10-minute study on 20 x 30" cartridge paper. Below are two 20-minute ones on 18 x 24" Japanese paper, and the lowest is a 10-minute one done on the larger cartridge paper.
All are done with 8B graphite. 
The ones on Japanese paper are working better, but there is a quality of informality and spontaneity - a generosity of markmaking - on the cartridge paper I'd like to get onto the better paper.

On the Tuesday night, I got out for some sketching. C-   , who was a new model for me, was working at Artists 25. From top to bottom these are a 2-minute, two 5-minute and a10-minute study, all done with graphite on 20 x 30" cartridge paper.

Above are two 15-minute studies on 20 x 30" cartridge paper, and below are two 20-minute studies on 18 x 24" Japanese paper. All were done with 8B graphite.

After the conclusion of my (very enjoyable) open house, I went over to the TSA for some sketching time.   d- was working, and these are  few 1-minute studies and a 10-minute head study, all with 8B graphite on 20 x 30" cartridge paper.

Most of the Thursday and Friday of that week was focused on getting ready for an open house at my studio, so I tailed off on the drawing time.  On Friday night I had to pick up some things from the TSA, so I allowed myself one hour of sketching. I was sorry I couldn't stay longer, as S-  was working, and I haven't had many opportunities to draw him.
The top two images are 15-minute studies on 20 x 30" cartridge paper , and the lower one is on 18 x 24" Japanese paper. All are done with 8B graphite.

Above are three 20-minute studies on 18 x 24" Japanese paper, all done with 8B graphite.
Below is one 15-minute study, done with graphite on 20 x 30" cartridge paper.

None of these perfectly replicates the texture/size/spontaneity of Conte crayon on big sheets of newsprint (see any entry prior to Sept. 2010), but I feel there are good prospects for both the cartridge paper and Japanese papers as materials with substantially better longevity- especially the Japanese papers.
